Noel Sheppard never misses an opportunity to obsess over something MSNBC has done, usually launching jihads against them for being too liberal… now, it’s gotten to the point that he doesn’t even want them labeled as a news channel anymore.
In a brief May 21 piece, Sheppard arrogantly brags “As NewsBusters has been reporting, Americans are tiring of MSNBC” Yes, that’s right, because NewsBusters has its ear next to every American, all of whom are saying how they supposedly hate MSNBC… because they must hate them as much as Sheppard does.
To say Mr. Sheppard is overstating the impact his organization has on the opinion Americans have of MSNBC is being kind.
As citizens, we’re all used to the politicizing of tragedies being left to childish politicians, who attack their opponents so they can win elections. That low standard of human discourse was brought even lower, following one of the worst Tornado disasters the state of Oklahoma had seen in almost a decade and a half, courtesy of the country’s “liberal media watchdog“.
In a May 21 article, Noel Sheppard berated MSNBC’s Martin Bashir for his characterization of the recent tornado that ravaged the town of Moore, OK, claiming how “America’s media love to hype every serious weather event.“
He stated his main quibble with the liberal host from the outset:
On Monday, shortly after an F4 tornado demolished the town of Moore, Oklahoma, MSNBC’s Martin Bashir called it “perhaps the worst tornado in the history of the planet” [...]:
MARTIN BASHIR: We have been following breaking news from Oklahoma for two hours now, a situation that is still developing at this moment. A massive tornado in Oklahoma, Moore, Oklahoma, near Oklahoma City. The storm was ferocious, a powerful system that tour a swath through the region and has left untold destruction that rescue teams continue to sift through. Images of devastation that are becoming clearer by the minute. The place for politics today dominated by perhaps the worst tornado in the history of the planet.
Another day, another article where NewsBusters, rather than complain about “liberal bias“, decides to find liberals in the media who are attacking Republican politicians.
In a May 6 complaint, Noel Sheppard documented a conversation Senator James Inhofe (R-OK) had with WorldNetDaily columnist, Aaron Klein, who is apparently now a talk show radio host, about how the Senator got attacked by the host of CBS’ “Late Show”, David Letterman:
James Inhofe of Oklahoma, told WABC radio’s Aaron Klein Sunday, “That’s kind of a badge of honor. Any time you get Rachel Maddow or Letterman or those people to call you names that means you are winning.”
We all know that the typical conservative out there rails against any kind of political correctness in the political media. However, when any liberal dares to say something non-PC, it’s frowned upon by the conservative media police.
In an April 17 article, Noel Sheppard chided Salon’s David Sirota in a piece titled “Let’s hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American“, with a subtitle stating “There is a double standard: White terrorists are dealt with as lone wolves, Islamists are existential threats“. Apparently, Sheppard took the headline completely literal to the bone:
We have seen some disgraceful reporting of the Boston Marathon bombing the past few days, but this headline at Salon Tuesday could be the worst.
Let’s Hope the Boston Marathon Bomber Is a White American
As you might imagine, the author, David Sirota, is a perilously liberal political commentator.
Last month he participated in a CNN panel that compared supporters of traditional marriage to segregationists and slave owners.
During last year’s summer Olympics, he said he had “pangs of discomfort” watching Americans cheer team USA.
Noel Sheppard hates when the media gushes over Democratic politicians… Even though he can fawn over politicians on the opposite side of the aisle all the time, anytime he wants.
In a January 23 posting, the associate editor of NewsBusters took MSNBC’s Chris Matthews to task for criticizing the questioning of soon-to-be outgoing Secretary of State Hilary Clinton by Republican Senator’s Ron Johnson of Wisconsin and Rand Paul of Texas.
Of course, Sheppard had to begin his bitching about the media bias being in favor of Secretary Clinton, while it’s clear that the inquiry into the Benghazi attacks are nothing than a good old-fashioned GOP witch hunt:
It was a metaphysical certitude that America’s media were going to gush and fawn over Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s testimony before Congress Wednesday as they mercilessly attacked any Senator or Representative having the gall to ask her tough questions about what happend [sic] at our consulate in Benghazi, Libya, last year.
Playing his part was MSNBC’s Chris Matthews who on Hardball moments after the hearing ended said of Senator Ron Johnson’s (R-Wisc.) exchange with Clinton, “That was kind of a pissant performance” [...]
There is a certain NewsBuster who can’t seem to help himself when a certain political pundit tries to get attention for getting into on-air spats.
In a November 9 post, Noel Sheppard was just intrigued with the “marvelous” questions being waged by former Bush flunky Mary Matalin during an appearance on ABC’s “This Week“. Ms. Matalin is also the wife of former Clinton-ite James Carville, who just happened to be on the panel, as her ideological counterpart. As he has been in the past, Mr. Carville had another front row seat to watch his wife lose her temper with Nobel-prize winning economist, and New York Times columnist, Paul Krugman… and Sheppard couldn’t contain his excitement (emphasis mine):
As Krugman spewed typical Democrat talking points about the fiscal cliff negotiations on ABC’s This Week, Matalin interjected, “Are you an economist or a polemicist? Just make up your mind” [...]
The faux-outrage machine is being riled upat NewsBusters, again… And in unpredictable fashion, it’s their resident creator of outrage, Noel Sheppard waving his arms maniacally trying to get attention.
In a December 4 posting, Sheppard complained about four of MSNBC’s main hosts meeting with President Obama in a closed door meeting at the White House. Sheppard couldn’t believe this revelation, and did his job the only way he knows how… freaking out:
If this don’t beat all.
On Tuesday, President Obama met with liberals including MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, and Al Sharpton to “discuss importance of extending the Bush middle-class tax cut.”
If you have ever seen anybody with thin skin when it comes to making jokes, it’s Noel Sheppard. He loves to dish out sarcasm in his own arrogant manner, but anytime– and I mean ANYTIME– someone dares to crack a joke about a conservative, even a comedian who’s doing their job, he has to have a “bias” freakout. This has frequently been the case with Sheppard and his crying about jokes Bill Maher likes to make about conservatives.
In an October 29 huffing, George Lopez was in Sheppard’s cross hairs for taking to Twitter and daring to joke (which he calls a “cheap shot“) about the darling of the Republican party, VP nominee Paul Ryan:
Comedian George Lopez took a cheap shot at Republican vice presidential candidate Paul Ryan Sunday
Posting on Twitter, Lopez wrote, “Last night @RepPaulRyan was stating [sic] at my same hotel in Dayton, they baby proofed the whole floor.”
There is no interview President Obama will do with any network, excluding Fox News, that Noel Sheppard won’t complain about… particularly before it even airs.
In an October 27 piece, the NewsBusters’ associate editor whines in his typically petulant tone about how the President will be sitting down for an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe“, hosted by Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough. Mind you, this is the first interview in years, since being elected, that Obama is doing with any host from MSNBC. That fact doesn’t matter to Sheppard, however, as he’s already touting the interview as softball, before even watching it:
Having not done a press conference since June, Barack Obama has instead appeared on ABC’s The View, CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, and NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.
Apparently feeling MSNBC’s Morning Joe will present him with similar softballs and friendly confines, the President is doing an interview with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski Saturday to be aired Monday just eight days before Americans go to the polls.
We already know that Team Romney doesn’t want the presidential campaign to be “dictated by fact-checkers“… you know, actual journalism. But, in a pathetic, yet unsurprising post, NewsBusters actually doubled down and supported that promise, showing the reason why the “liberal media” doesn’t exist, and how they don’t care about the media doing responsible journalism.
In a short October 17 posting, Noel Sheppard showed a clip of an appearance by Republican Congressman Jason Chaffetz on CNN where he actually told Candy Crowley, the moderator of last night’s Presidential debate, that she shouldn’t “try to be fact-checker” during a debate, referencing her attempt to do so last night. Suffice to say, Sheppard loved the criticism (emphasis mine):
Candy Crowley is rightfully coming under fire for acting like a biased referee in Tuesday night’s presidential debate.
On CNN’s Starting Point Wednesday, Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-Ut.) scolded Crowley saying, “It wasn’t necessarily your place to try to be fact-checker” [...]
