There is no interview President Obama will do with any network, excluding Fox News, that Noel Sheppard won’t complain about… particularly before it even airs.

In an October 27 piece, the NewsBusters’ associate editor whines in his typically petulant tone about how the President will be sitting down for an interview with MSNBC’s “Morning Joe“, hosted by Mika Brzezinski and Joe Scarborough. Mind you, this is the first interview in years, since being elected, that Obama is doing with any host from MSNBC. That fact doesn’t matter to Sheppard, however, as he’s already touting the interview as softball, before even watching it:

Having not done a press conference since June, Barack Obama has instead appeared on ABC’s The View, CBS’s Late Show with David Letterman, and NBC’s Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Apparently feeling MSNBC’s Morning Joe will present him with similar softballs and friendly confines, the President is doing an interview with Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski Saturday to be aired Monday just eight days before Americans go to the polls.

Sheppard promotes manufactured bias invented by right-wing blogosphere, dubiously suggests MSNBC hosts doctored footage of Romney/Ryan rally [w/ UPDATE]

Things are going so terribly awry for Mitt Romney that the right-wing blogosphere is resorting to yet another “liberal media” witch hunt to distract from the GOP nominee’s habit of shooting himself in the foot. Of course, NewsBusters being the media experts they are, followed the rest of the conspiracy theorists who are too paranoid out of their minds to think straight, so they started wracking their brains out to promote something they found that is so absolutely inconclusive to judge.

In a September 28 article, Noel Sheppard documents a segment on MSNBC’s “Morning Joe“, which is hosted by former Republican congressman Joe Scarborough, with co-host Mika Brzezinski. Mr. Sheppard takes issue with the hosts reacting to a clip of Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, holding a rally with his VP pick, Paul Ryan, baselessly accusing the duo of doctoring the video, referencing an article from Glenn Beck’s TheBlaze.com (emphasis mine):

As the Blaze reported Thursday, Morning Joe aired a video this week that has aroused similar suspicion.

In it, a chyron came on the screen reading “Ryan, Ryan” drawing attention to a crowd’s chant at a Romney/Ryan event.

Romney then instructed the crowd to chant, “Romney/Ryan, Romney/Ryan” eliciting harsh criticism from Scarborough – “Sweet Jesus” – as well as derision from Mika Brzezinski.

Sheppard laments “small government conservative” Joe Scarborough for not following along the party line and not despising President Obama [w/ UPDATE]

Noel Sheppard, and his employer, NewsBusters, can’t stand it when a conservative criticizes another fellow conservative.

In a September 24 piece, Sheppard applauded Mitt Romney’s senior campaign adviser, Bay Buchanan, during an appearance on NBC’s “Meet the Press” roundtable discussion, where she called out the host of MSNBC’s “Morning Joe“, Joe Scarborough as not being enough of a conservative, along with New York Times columnist David Brooks (both of whom were on the roundtable panel). The MSNBC host, particularly, didn’t take kindly to it:

After Scarborough took issue with Buchanan implying that she was the only conservative present on a panel filled with liberals, Buchanan replied, “You know, Joe, on this set, you appear to be one of the four”

[...]

As such, despite Scarborough’s ensuing pushback, Buchanan was indeed the only person on that set that at this stage in his or her life can be called a conservative.

Kyle Drennen on the Liberal Bias of Joe Scarborough

Last year, over on my own blog, I wrote a series of articles called “Newsbusters & Me,” wherein I outlined parts of the MRC gang’s modus operandi. In one, I noted that, in their usage, the word “liberal” is

“the default designation for anyone who isn’t identifiably of the far right on every conceivable issue–those so tagged are often, in reality, conservatives whom outlets like the MRC just decided aren’t conservative enough, or aren’t conservative in the right ways.”

In another, I noted that

“Of the articles that appear on the Center’s Newsbusters blog, a large portion are devoted to simply complaining about the fact that someone somewhere offered a “liberal” (as they use the word) point of view, the implication being that this shouldn’t happen.”

When I just punched up Newsbusters, the first article to appear was an example of both: Kyle Drennen devoting an article to throwing a spotlight on MSNBC host Joe Scarborough’s comparative analysis of the Repulican and Democratic conventions. Scarborough, appearing on NBC’s Today, was asked by host Savannah Guthrie, “Pound for pound, speech for speech, night for night, make a call, who had the better convention and who the most riding on it?” He replied:

“Oh, good lord, if we’re going pound for pound, round for round, this wasn’t Ali versus Frasier, this was Muhammed Ali versus Chuck Wepner. It was ugly.”

Bizarro World: NewsBusters now complaining about New York Times reporting on the pro-Democratic bias of MSNBC

Noel Sheppard is off his meds, again. The poor guy just can’t seem to go a single day without flipping his wig about what MSNBC does or says. They can’t breathe without Sheppard somehow being up their ass about it.

In a September 5 freakout, the second in less than a day, Sheppard (apparently covering for the regular NYT watchdog, Clay Waters), highlighted what he called was a “Shocking NYT Headline” that profiled the vast amount of enthusiasm the liberal network is getting at the Democratic National Convention this week:

On Wednesday, the New York Times published an article titled “Welcome to the MSNBC, Er, Democratic Convention” that largely made Limbaugh’s case:

Sure, the events here in Charlotte are a national celebration of the Democratic Party and its presidential nominee. But in many ways, it’s the MSNBC Convention.

Network, party and partisan moment have collided, felicitously, in Charlotte. MSNBC’s on-air personalities are mobbed in the street, snarling pedestrian traffic. Its network-branded pins, coffee cups and tote bags are ubiquitous collectors’ items for delegates. Its promotional posters and banners are so ostentatious that Willie Geist, an MSNBC host, has compared them to North Korean propaganda. [...]

Four years ago, there was open anxiety inside MSNBC over having the unabashedly partisan Keith Olbermann anchor convention coverage. But the era of liberal hand-wringing appears to have passed. “I feel they are part of this convention,” explained Lorret Battist, a 58-year-old MSNBC fan from Atlanta, who excitedly snapped a picture of Mr. Scarborough on the sidewalk on Tuesday. “They are in tune with the people here.”

Sheppard falsely claims there wasn’t “one word” about Issue 3 in Ohio on MSNBC’s Morning Joe

Not a moment too soon, Noel Sheppard already attempted to come out against the media after several ballot initiatives and special elections happened across the country. Trying to dig up something to complain about, he latched onto how MSNBC’s Morning Joe covered “Issue 3” in the state of Ohio, but completely left his facts out to dry (emphasis mine):

On MSNBC’s Morning Joe Wednesday, the failure of Ohio’s Issue 2 – which strikes down Governor John Kasich’s (R) anti-collective bargaining law by public unions – was raised several times as a major defeat for Republicans, but not once in three hours did the overwhelming passage of Issue 3 – which effectively makes ObamaCare illegal in the state – surface.

Geoffrey Dickens makes absurd comparison of quotes from past and present MSNBC hosts to question why there weren’t as many suspensions

Earlier today on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, Senior Political Analyst Mark Halperin joined the morning show, hosted by Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski, for a roundtable discussion about President Obama’s speech yesterday morning regarding the recent deficit debate (courtesy of YouTube’s whitehouse)

The morning after the press conference, the MSNBC morning show discussed the substance of what the President said, and it led to an awkward exchange involving the aforementioned Halperin. The TIME Magazine veteran prefaced his point by asking facetiously “Are we on the 7-second delay today?“, making reference to 2008 when Scarborough, himself, blurted out “f*ck you” live on air. Halperin went on to state “I wanted to characterize how I thought the President behaved… I thought he was kind of a dick yesterday.” This remark lead to an indefinite suspension issued by MSNBC shortly thereafter.
